Archive

The archive of the Fritz Bauer Institute was created when the Institute was founded. It documents the history and work of the research and education centre; it manages the archive materials that have been created through research projects or received from public entities and private individuals and actively collects materials on the Institute’s research topics itself. The archive’s holdings are available to all interested parties in accordance with the archive’s rules of use. The archive also provides information in response to queries on contemporary history topics and advises researchers of holdings available at other public archives as well.

The archive of the Fritz Bauer Institute is a cooperation partner of the Visual History Archive of the USC Shoah Foundation at the University of Southern California, CA, USA  and of the Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies at Yale University, CT, USA. Video materials of both these institutions can be accessed via special work stations set up at the Institute.
