Jürg Breuninger Doctoral Scolarship

Lilia Tomchuk studied history and Spanish at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main with the objective of a certification as secondary teacher. In 2019 she wrote her thesis on »Violence against Jewish women on Ukrainian territory 1941–1945. Topics, patterns and narratives of sexual assault in eyewitness accounts of the USC Shoah Foundation«. Now she is working on her dissertation project entitled »Dimensions of experience and the role of Jewish women in occupied Ukraine during the Holocaust«. Lilia Tomchuk holds the Jürg Breuninger Doctoral Scolarship at the Fritz Bauer Institute.
