Martha Johanna Rebekka Schmitt B.A. earned her bachelor’s degree in History, Philosophy, and English studies and is now pursuing a master’s degree in History at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. She is interested in the theory and methodology of history and, within the context of Holocaust research, is particularly interested in the interactions between perpetrators, victims, and bystanders, as well as the relationship between individual scope for action and totalitarian structures. Martha Schmitt works for the Fritz Bauer Institute in various capacities, including in research assistance, event organization as well as educational outreach.
