The Fritz Bauer Institute is participating in an advisory capacity in the joint project Anti-Semitism in European School Instruction, based at the Center for Research on Education, Instruction, Schooling and Socialization (Zentrum für Bildungs-, Unterrichts-, Schul- und Sozialisationsforschung) at the European University in Flensburg and the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and runs from 2021 to 2025. It aims to research dynamics, manifestations, and effects of anti-Semitism in Europe and develop digital teaching materials for the prevention of anti-Semitism in interdisciplinary European school lessons.
In addition to the Fritz Bauer Institute, further cooperation partners are the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and schools in Germany, France, Spain, and Romania, as well as memorial sites, NS documentation centers, and Jewish museums as extracurricular learning venues. The project aims to provide students with a sustainable set of values that will enable them to resolutely oppose radical positions, attitudes, and conspiracy myths.
